Petra Gorham

Coming from a family of medical doctors and researchers, I have always been fascinated by human biology, the brain and behavior. My extensive work experience across mental health services, helping people with psychiatric and neurological problems, prompted me to study for a BSc Hons in Psychology which I obtained through part time study while working full time. I was particularly fascinated by biological explanations of human behaviour and disorders, so I decided to go back to full time education and completed an MSc in Neuroscience at King's College London. I chose a specialized module in fMRI and tractography and successfully completed a research project within the Natbrainlab. Using multimodal imaging I investigated if the integration of fMRI, DTI and MEG can be useful in language research. Outside of neuroscience, I am a keen salsa dancer and a certified Scuba Rescue Diver and have dived with dolphins and sharks.
